Boards in the U.S. and beyond face growing impatience from investors concerned about their lack of diversity. Men hold 83.5 percent of board seats at Russell 3000 companies as of Q4 2017, according to Equilar, and white men hold more than two-thirds of board seats at Fortune 500 companies, according to Deloitte. Yet research by the index provider MSCI has found that companies with at least three women on the board financially outperform those with no female directors and that adding any number of female directors correlates with higher median increases in earnings per share.
Kampf will lead the GET ON BOARD practice with support from external advisor Denise Kuprionis, president of The Governance Solutions Group and an NACD Board Leadership Fellow. Their credentials combine industry-leading search and diversity expertise with decades of board experience.
